BMJ PROJECT /// The Artist’s Swap meet, or ‘Buy My Junk’ Project, is not a swap meet for artists; nor is it intended to be a boutique swap meet filled with cheap artworks from predominant San Diego artists. Instead, BMJ Project is a swap meet where the vendors are artists selling their various junk for the intended purpose of funding art projects. It is an alternative art funding experiment that was inspired by the beloved San Diego tradition of weekend swap meets and yard sales. BMJ Project will take place at Bread and Salt in Barrio Logan on March 31, 2018 with 50 participating artists vendors. We intend to facilitate a community space to engage the San Diego community while strengthening the artistic community through collective fund raising.
